The number one question I receive about my Pomeranian puppies is their expected weight. If I knew exactly how much a puppy is going to weigh as an adult I would be God.

Nobody can predict exactly how tall a human baby will be or how much a human baby will weigh as an adult. The same is true with Pomeranians. There are so many factors that influence adult weight. Genetic influence can go back as far as 7 generation. Almost all breeders breed a smaller male to a larger female. In Pomeranian lines there is a great weight/size range.

To give people an idea and a reference I post the widely used chart. Under no circumstances do I guarantee any adult weight. Nor do I make promises about adult weight. If weight is of the utmost importance to you, DO NOT BUY A PUPPY, wait until the Pom of your choice is at least 6 months of age before buying him or her.

Please keep in mind weight and size, are two different things. A pom can weigh 6 pounds, but still be very little. It would depend on how you feed. I had a very small female who should have only been 3 pounds, but weighted 6, because my husband fed her people food and she had such short legs she would walk and plop down, walk and plop down. Rule of thumb: The cheaper the puppy - the larger the parents and the further away from the breed standard.
